Constance Mae Williams Bennett was born December 31, 1933 to James Dennis Williams and Mae Mabel (Denno) Williams, the fourth of their six children. The last surviving sibling, Connie passed away on April 24, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents, one sister, Sarah Williams Beale, and four brothers: William, John, Francis and Lawrence.
Connie attended Catholic elementary schools and St Patrick's Catholic Church in Port Henry, NY, where the family resided. She was a dedicated student and loved music. She had a lovely alto voice and sang with the church choir, and later, with the Port Henry High School Glee Club and Mixed Chorus.
After high school graduation, Connie was employed by the International Paper Company in Ticonderoga, NY, where she lived for many years.
In her later years Connie made her home in Canandaigua, NY, where she worked as a home health aide, helping to care for aging and disabled patients, whose families expressed their gratitude and appreciation for her devoted care of their loved ones.
In Canandaigua, Connie enjoyed swimming in the lake near her home, tending her gardens and the company of friends. Her closest friend, Lori remained by her side during her final illness.
Connie was a beloved aunt to many nephews and nieces with whom she loved to spend time.
They remember her fondly as a kind, generous person who made them feel special with gifts and stories. These nephews and nieces have organized a final tribute, a graveside service to be held on July 11, 2023, at 11am, St Patrick's Cemetery in Port Henry NY.
