Christopher Myers Obituary

Christopher R. Myers (1/02/1985-10/03/2022)

Christopher Ryan Myers (37), son of Richard & Debra (Audet) Myers, died on October 3rd at home in Mineville, NY.

He deeply loved his family and friends and leaves behind his parents; Debra and Richard, brothers; Phillip and Alex, sister-in-law Mikaela, his maternal grandmother Betty, many aunts, uncles, cousins and a treasured circle of life-long friends and acquaintances. He loved people and people loved him; a true friend to the end.  His eyes were opened to others who needed help and offered his support and attention to anyone he saw in need.

Christopher attended Shelburne Community School, Champlain Valley Union High School and Champlain College.  He later studied and achieved his home inspection certification in 2019. Christopher was very involved with the Shelburne Charlotte Association of Snow Travelers (SCAT) Snowmobile Club as President in 2016 as he worked to build membership and preserve local trail systems created by VAST.

A man with many talents and interests, he loved music, snowmobiling, boating, water sports, and gathering with family and friends. Christopher was above all a musician and percussionist. His most memorable performances were with local bands beginning at the age of 17 with Uncle Buzz, his college band ‘Ed’ (Educated), Shotgun Blues, WAGAN (We Ain’t Got a Name) and Panton Flatts who created a CD album in 2012. After 13 years he reconnected with the members of Shotgun Blues. They were remotely working to re-create one of their original songs in the Blues/Rock genre.

The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Port Henry, New York on Friday, October 21st at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery beside his paternal grandparents William and Anna. A lunch reception will follow. If you would like, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to:

The Burlington Music Dojo, Attn: The Learn to Fly Program, 416 Pine Street, Burlington VT 05401 or via Venmo: @BurlingtonMusic, giving kids the chance to share in the power of music.  It would have given Chris great pleasure knowing he could help support new musicians; young and old, to keep music happening in Vermont.
