Obituary of Charles (Skip) Belden
Skip Belden of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on June 26, 2023 with his loving wife Louise Michener Belden by his side. He was 86 years old.
Skip was born in Port Henry, New York on August 25, 1936 to Ruth Balmer Belden and Les Belden.
After serving in the Army, Skip married Louise and they raised two lovely daughters. They made Port Henry their home surrounded by many friends and relatives. Skip worked for International Paper Company for over 30 years. He was a life-long learner, avid reader and loved sports. Both he and Louise were active members in St. Patrick’s church.
Skip and Louise started spending winters in Daytona Beach Florida in 2010. They moved to Daytona Beach permanently in 2019. Skip attended Mass daily at St. Paul’s Basilica and appreciated all the concerts, plays, and lovely weather Daytona Beach had to offer.
Skip is survived by his wife, Louise, his daughters Andrea (Patrick) O’Connor and Robin (Joe) Gajewski, his grandchildren Casey (Sean) Wild, Jeffery Gajewski, Ryan (Rebecca) O’Connor, Tara (Sam) Arnold, Kevin O’Connor and Lauren O’Connor, his great-grandchildren Lily, Maggie and Jack O’Connor, Iris and Winnie Arnold, Harrison and Nora Wild, his sister Kim Belden (Fred Harden), his brother-in-law Gary Michener, and his nephews Shawn Michener, Jim Michener, Bryce and Landyn Michener
There will be a memorial service August 25, 2023 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Church Port Henry, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to your favorite charity in Skip’s name.
