Carol Eva Ruth Whalen passed away on February 7, 2023 at UVM Medical Center, Burlington Vermont.
Carol was born at Ticonderoga NY on May 28, 1928, the Daughter of Henry and Caroline (Scripture) Ruth.
She Married Peter Whalen on January 23, 1949 and raised a family of nine children in Witherbee NY.
Carol worked for the Grand Union Company for 20 years, and also was very active in the Mineville VFW Post 5802. Whenever there was an event going on at the VFW, be it bingo, weddings, meetings or any gatherings Carol would be there!
Carol loved cooking Sunday dinners for her large family gatherings, and being surrounded by her Grand & Great Grand children.
In her later years she enjoyed a quiet life and loved doing her Word Search books and her coloring books. She was a kind, quiet and patient woman who never complained or had a bad word for anyone.
Carol was predeceased by her Husband Peter in 2006, two of her children, Mark Whalen and Cheryl Remington, three Grandchildren, Christopher Whalen, Anneka Remington and Michelle Scozzafava.
She was also predeceased by four of her brothers, and 5 sisters.
She is survived by her children, Paul ( Josette) Whalen, Joe ( Linda) Whalen, Rick (Lynda) Whalen, Bill Whalen, Mary Lou ( Tom) Scozzafava, Debbie ( Kevin ) Reyor, Peter (Rene) Whalen,
She is also survived by 22 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.
At Carols request there will be no calling hours and a private gathering will be held in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.
