Cameron Sprague Obituary

Cameron M. Sprague, 53, of Moriah Center passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 1, 2026. Born in Elizabethtown, NY on November 23, 1972, he was the son of Jim (Walter) and Pat (Patricia) Sprague of Moriah Center.

Left to cherish Cameron’s memories are his parents, his 4 children; Justin and his son (Layne), Cory (Kaleigh LaMotte) their children(Hannah, Kolden, and Maggie), Jessica (Tylor) Frazier and their children (Willow and Rayne) and his son Spencer; his siblings Robin Roberts (Ed), Jim (Kathy) and Rene (Dan Gibbs); his cousin Logan Sprague;  his good friend Marie Anderson and many nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles. He was predeceased by three very special Aunts, Laura Sprague (Lolly), Cathy Woods and Eva Provoncha, his grandparents and several Aunts and Uncles.

Cameron loved horses and worked for Frontier Town as a teenager. Cameron was most recently employed at Sylvamo Ticonderoga Mill but started his construction career with A.P. Reale of Ticonderoga, NY and worked for many other construction companies throughout his life. Cam enjoyed horses, rabbit hunting, trapping, welding and carpentry work. His family always said he was a jack of all trades! He was very talented and an excellent carpenter and welder who was always willing to take on projects for family and friends. Cam always exceeded their expectations with the finished project as he had an eye for perfection and imagination to turn simple into beautiful!

Donations in his memory can be made to a horse rescue of your choice or to the Moriah Ambulance Squad.

There will be a service held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, January 17,, 2026 at the United Methodist Church in Moriah, NY followed by a celebration of life at the Knight of Columbus in Port Henry, NY.
