Bruce LaHendro Obituary

Bruce M. LaHendro, 73, of Witherbee passed away peacefully with family at his side after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 20th 1947 the son of William LaHendro Sr. and Leota (Smith-Partridge) LaHendro. He served in the US Army,  3rd Division 25th  Infantry Wolfhounds  from 1967 to 1969 during the Vietnam conflict. He was recipient of two Bronze Star Medals for heroic service during combat. Bruce was very proud of his service and in September of 2019 was able to attend a North Country Honor Flight to Washington D.C..  Bruce was employed by the Grand Union Company before his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He is greatly loved and will be missed by many.

 

Left to cherish his memory is his children; Sean LaHendro (Sandy) of Eustis, Florida, Ed Johnston of Mineville, Donald Johnston of Morrisonville, Gabe (Gina) LaHendro of Ticonderoga and Kevin (Amanda) LaHendro of Keene, New Hampshire. His grandchildren - Justice, Alexis, Kenneth Johnston, Cullin (Shirley) Johnston, Autumn, Paige, Summer, Amber and Matthew,  his great grandsons Isaiah and Elijah Johnston, his sisters Linda (Steve) Frase and MaryAnn (Michael) Badger, several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

 

He was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia Geer, his parents William and Leota, step parents Buck Patridge and Madeline LaHendro, and two brothers, William Jr. And Bucky Patridge.

 

A private memorial will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Disabled American Veteran’s organization.
