Arthur Rice, 71, of Port Heny, NY passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025. He was born on May 11, 1954 in Middlebury, VT to Edwin and Ruth (Brilyea) Rice. Arthur grew up in Shoreham, VT working on a farm. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and the heart and soul of our family.

Arthur enjoyed hunting and was a skilled handy man. As a handyman Arthur was known for his ability to fix nearly anything. With steady hands he generously offered his skills to anyone who needed it, never hesitating to help when something needed mending. He worked 46 years at JP Carrara’s in Middlebury, VT and later in Crown Point, NY driving trucks and helping run the plant. Above all, Arthur valued hard work, honesty and family.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Norma Rice, his son Shawn Rice (JoAnne) and their daughter Abbigale, his daughter Shannon (Arthur) Brassard and their children Tyler and Taylor. He is also survived by his brother Myles (Cheryl) Rice and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edwin and Ruth (Brilyea) Rice and his brother Eddie (Roxanne) Rice.

Arthur will be remembered for his kindness, patience, quiet strength and the sense of comfort that came with his presence. To honor his wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
