Anthony John Mydlarz, 32 of Crown Point, NY passed unexpectedly on October 14, 2024. Anthony was born on June 16, 1992 to Carol and the late Stephen (Stevie) Mydlarz. Anthony grew up loving to visit the lake house of his grandparents on Sunday mornings. It was there that his love of water took shape. Anthony would spend hours at the lake with his siblings and cousins. When Anthony got older, he became more like his father and grandfather as he tinkered around with little projects here and there. He found joy in working on cars and fixing anything with an engine. Anthony was predeceased by his father, Stephen Mydlarz and his sister, Rebecca (Becky) Mydlarz and his paternal grandparents, Stephen (Steve) and Edith Mydlarz; maternal grandfather, Harry James Gould Sr. Survivors include his mother, Carol Mydlarz; grandparents, Nancy and Donald Olcott; his sisters, Brittany (Jacob) Sprague, Amanda Mydlarz and several nieces and a nephew. Anthony was first and foremost a human being, a son, brother, nephew, uncle and grandson. A person whose life was consumed by the disease of addiction. We want you to know that this did not define all he was or deflate the potential he had. He was kind and caring to those who knew him. It is our hope that through education, awareness, prevention and connecting those who suffer from addiction to such supportive services more people will learn that recovery is possible and that one should not be defined by the disease. We hope that with compassion and awareness communities can rally around those lives that have been impacted by addiction so that a brighter path can be forged. There will be a private service for the immediate family.
