Anna (Nels) Wojewodzic

Anna Wojewodzic December 12, 1928 - May 27, 2019

Anna Wojewodzic, 90, of Meacham Street, Port Henry, passed away peacefully on the same farmland she was born on in Crown Point, NY under the loving care of her family and High Peaks Hospice. She was the daughter of Catherine and John Nels.

In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband John Frank Wojewodzic (Buckshot) and her 7 siblings: John Nels (Syracuse), Joe Nels (Syracuse), Frank Nels (Crown Point), Benjamin Nels (Liverpool), Stanley Nels (Crown Point), Walter Nels (Mineville) and Mary Mazurowski (Ironville).

 Anna was employed at International Paper Mill for 30 years and enjoyed 28 great years of retirement. Her favorite thing was shopping for clothes and going out to eat with her friends (the girls). There was never an empty stomach at Anna’s house or one too full. She loved to cook, read and absolutely adored animals. Her sense of humor had a lasting impression on everyone whether on the job or in her personal life. Her strength and endurance always left everyone in awe, in fact she was strong until the end.

Anna leaves behind daughter Marianne and son-in-law Gordon Baker, son John Wojewodzic (Jo-John), and daughter JoAnne and son-in-law James Petro. She also leaves her grandchildren Gordon Baker Jr., Gregg Baker, Andrea and husband Brian Richardson, Jamie Poirier, Jade Petro, Jenna Petro as well as 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday May 30th, 2019, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Harland’s Funeral Home, 4279 Main St, Port Henry, NY 12974. Following calling hours at 1:00pm a Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church for those who wish to attend. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s cemetery. All are welcome to attend a celebration of Anna’s life that will take place after the burial at the K of C in Port Henry. In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anna Wojewodzic may be made to High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
