Allen C. Supernault 71, resident of Mineville, NY, passed away January 7, 2019. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY June 29th 1947 to the son of Clarence and Gertrude Supernault (Demers).
He began his career with International Paper in Ticonderoga, NY in 1966. He then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971 and was stationed in Vietnam for one year. After serving his country he returned to International Paper and retired with 42 years of service in 2008. He also learned refrigeration and air conditioning repair while in the Air Force which he performed as a side job and hobby since his honorable discharge in 1971.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Merrill) of 46 years, his sons David (Kathy), Eric (Crystal) both of Mineville, NY, daughter Carla (Ryan), Grandchildren Brooke & Brody Supernault, Colin, Caleb, Carter & Kailee Harris, Joshua Irizarry, and Jacob Ashley. Also survived by his mother Gertrude of Port Henry, NY, his brother Alvin (Mary) Supernault of Port Henry, NY, & Alton Supernault of Port Henry, NY, and many other family and friends. He is predeceased by his father Clarence Supernault (2016).
Allen enjoyed going for back road car rides with his brother Alton during the afternoons. He enjoyed long visits with his mother. He had a great passion for his children which his two boys are both employed by the NYS Department of Corrections. He especially enjoyed the summer weather and taking his convertible on long Sunday rides with his wife Barbara while he’d enjoy a cigar. Allen also had a passion for guns and had a very respectable gun collection which he enjoyed shooting and cleaning as a past time, he was also very knowledgeable about different rare and collectable guns and their values.
Memorial services will be held at Harland’s Funeral Home on Saturday January 12th at 11am with a reception to follow at the Mineville VFW.
