Allan Clark Obituary

Allan D. Clark

1941-2025

Moriah – Allan D. Clark, age 84 of Moriah Center, NY passed away on Thursday October 9th, 2025, at the Elderwood Rehabilitation Center in Ticonderoga, NY with his family by his side. Allan was born on July 2nd, 1941, in Jay NY, the son of the late Ira and Eleanor Clark.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Allan’s love for his family rippled through the generations and he will be greatly missed.

Allan was educated as an elementary school teacher and served in that capacity in Cayuga NY. He soon moved up to become an Elementary School Principal in Cayuga and continued that career for many years at the Moriah Central School District in Moriah, NY until he retired. He loved working with both his teachers and the kids!

Allan absolutely loved gardening. His daughter often teased him that he grew enough vegetables to feed the whole town of Moriah. Alongside his wife Natalie, they also had the loveliest perennial flower gardens that could be seen easily from the road in front of their house, and visitors often stopped to comment on how beautiful they were.

During his life Allan was passionately involved with the Free & Accepted Masons of the State of NY. He joined in 1975 and continued to serve until his passing. He belonged to both the Mount Defiance Lodge #794 in Ticonderoga and the Rescue Lodge #772 in Crown Point. In addition, he also belonged to the Fort Ticonderoga Five Star #262, Eastern Star Chapter. Allan enjoyed and believed wholeheartedly in their commitment to community service.

Also in dedication to the community, Allan served on the Board of Commissioners for the Moriah Fire Department for decades!

Allan was pre-deceased by his wife of 51 years, Natalie Sears Clark. It just broke his heart when she passed away in 2014 from cancer. The spark in him was never quite the same after she passed. Allan was also pre-deceased by his brother Charles Clark of Florida.

Allan is survived by his daughter JoAnne Caswell and his son-in-law Jim Caswell of Moriah. His son Robert Clark of Moriah Center. His three Grand Children, whom he absolutely adored! Adam Clark and his wife Regine of Ticonderoga, Heidi Cleveland and her husband Rob of Stony Creek and Jesse Clark of Ticonderoga and his two beautiful great granddaughters, Natalie and Charlotte. In addition, his brother Russel Clark of Florida and his sister Carolyn Hathaway of Texas as well as numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
