Marion Eileen Perkowski

Crown Point – Ms. Marion Perkowski, 73 years old, of Ferry Road, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019.

She was born in Luzerne County, PA, on November 21, 1945. The Adirondacks later became her home in the 1980’s. Marion was known for her love of children, craftiness, traveling and feistiness.

She became a renowned basket weaver at the local Weavers Guild often attending craft fairs and farmers markets with her beautiful handcrafted merchandise.

Throughout the years she volunteered for the After School and Back Pack Programs as well as with the Girl Scouts.  She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and annually assisted with the Mardi Gras festivities for the children. She enjoyed vacationing in Maine and going on camping trips with friends.

She cherished her friendship with Judy French, as well as numerous caregivers that she developed lasting relationships with throughout the years.  Her photo albums were a testament to all of her cherished memories.

A tribute to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019.  Calling hours will be from 1:00-3:00 pm with a memorial service following at Harland’s Funeral Home.  A celebration will take place at the Crown Point AE Phelps Fire Hall after the service. Burial will occur in the Spring at the Union Cemetery, Moriah, NY.
