Janice I. Potskowski, 70, of Port Henry, New York passed away on June 7, 2018 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, New York with her loving family by her side.
She was one of three children born to the late Edgar and Mary LaVallie and was the beloved wife of William Potskowski who would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August.
Janice was a 4th grade teacher at Moriah Central School for many years. She always put everyone else first and some of her greatest joys were family dinners and of course, her flowers. Her yard was always full of beautiful flowers that she painstakingly kept free from weeds. Folks would always “ooh” and “aah” over hear beautiful gardens. She also enjoyed capturing some great photos of nature that she would frame and give to family.
She is survived by her husband, William; son, Adam; sister Bernadette (Tom)Trow; brother Frederick (Mary) LaVallie and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Sunday, June 10th from 6pm-8pm at Harland’s Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, June 11 at 10am at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to St. Patrick’s Parish.
