Geraldine Barcomb, 94, formerly of Witherbee, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018.
She was born April 12, 1923, the oldest of 11 children, in Mooers Forks, NY to Gilbert and Jessie (Yelle) Bobbie.
On August 24, 1942 she was married to Homer Barcomb for thirty one years before he predeceased her on November 25, 1974. Together they raised five children.
She is survived by her daughter Beverly and her husband Edward Trudeau; her son Eugene and his wife Lynn; a son-in-law Francis Paul; two sisters, Gladys Perry and Catherine Baglyos; two brothers Kenneth and Louise Bobbie and Gilbert and Gloria Bobbie. She leaves thirteen grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren to carry on her legacy.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Gloria Paul, two sons, Walter and Homer and a grandson, Troy Barcomb. Other family that has predeceased are her two brothers, Robert and Ernest Bobbie; brother-in-law Richard Perry; sisters and husbands Flora and Bill Conway, Elsie and Edmund Trombley and Grace and Donald Catanzarita.
Geraldine retired from the Witherbee Post Office after 26 years of service. She cherished her memories and friends she made during the years of her service.
Her belief in the rosaries helped Geraldine through her final years. So please remember to say a rosary for her.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 12 from 5-8 pm at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am at All Saints Church in Mineville. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus in Port Henry.
