Genevieve T. (Trapasso) Baird

Gen, 93, of Port Henry, NY died at home, attended to by her son, Bill, after struggling with health issues that began in 2004.

Born in Port Henry, she was one of seven children born to the late Thomas and Cecelia (Vanderhoof) Trapasso.

Gen was a graduate of Port Henry High School and was a Real Estate broker for over 30 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert J. Baird.

Survivors include her son, William (Bill), her sisters, Carol and Dorothy, her God Daughter, Joann (Stafford) Paige and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gen was very energetic and active all her life, always enjoying activities and being with people. She was an avid skier in earlier life, serving on ski patrol at Gore Mt. in the 60’s. She was also an avid golfer, winning the club championship at Moriah Country Club 3 times, once in the 60’s, once in the 70’s and once in the 80’s. She also was club champ at Westport Country Club one time in the 70’s. She greatly enjoyed the mixed league at Moriah Country Club, partnered with her son, and winning numerous times.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry, N.Y. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Moriah.
