Moriah Center – Cledas J. Nephew, of Moriah Center, passed away at his home on January 16, 2018. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY to Leo and Pearl (LaBier) Nephew. Cledas was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Cledas was well known in the area for his insurance business, in which he serviced the community for more than 50 years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Kelly) in 2001, after 41 years of marriage. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Susan Nephew of Witherbee, daughter and son-in-law, James and Cheryl Titus of Ballston Spa, and daughter and son-in-law, Michael and Kelly Lane of Port Henry. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Travis Nephew, Regan and Jared Titus, and Paige and Logan Lane, and a great granddaughter, Avery Nephew, his coloring partner. He also leaves behind his companion, Katherine (Kay) Houle of Port Henry, and two very special friends, Carl (Chip) Perry and Thomas Wojewodzic.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry, NY, from 4-6:30 pm, with a prayer service at the funeral home at 6:30. A celebration of Cledas’s life will immediately follow at the VFW in Witherbee.
