Margaret A. (Cocanig) Petri

Margaret Petri (ne Cocanig), died on September 23, 2017 in Middlebury, Vt.

Mrs. Petri was born in Chicago on September 11, 1926, to her parents Joseph and Justina Cocanig. She lived in the heart of Chicago neighborhood for 80 years.  

She married Bruno Petri in 1951. Mrs. Petri was a homemaker, and worked as a secretary at a local steel company to help pay college tuition for her sons.  

She enjoyed cooking, and socializing with her many friends and family in the neighborhood.

She moved to Vermont in 2006 to be closer to family, and lived there until her passing.  

She was predeceased by her husband Bruno Petri.  

She is survived by her sons Carl Petri and wife Melissa, and Rodney Petri and wife Norma; grandchildren Dante, Sabrina, and Antonio Petri, and step grandchild Aiden Burke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shard Villa in Salisbury, Vt. where she received outstanding care during her final months.

Services for Margaret will be held in Illinois. Visitation will be held on Tuesday Oct. 3rd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Divine Infant Catholic Church in Westchester, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
