John F Russo, Sr. of Mineville, New York passed away suddenly on Friday 23 February 2018. He was born on 31 December 1933, the son of the late Joseph Russo and Rose Tobin. He was also predeceased by several siblings. He was an Army Veteran who served our Country in the Korean War and a member of the 105th Infantry, Army Reserves. Johnny was an avid member of the community and a huge fan of sports-everything Moriah Vikings and Nascar Racing following Dale Earnhardt all around the south. From the time his own children could throw a ball, he was in the yard and at the fields watching high school games. Rarely missed a game and was a huge support to all kids. He is survived by his wife Jean (Riddle) Russo of 64 years; his children John Russo, Jr., Caroline Tromblee (Brian), Jeffrey Russo (Lisa), Theresa Trombley (Leo), Julie DeSimone (Derrick); his grandchildren John Russo III, Justin Russo, Melody McDonough, Christina Slattery, Sierra Russo, Jenna Russo, Travis Sherman, Zachary DeSimone, Katilyn DeSimone; Great Grand-Children, Vittoria Abell, Sean Abell, Makayla Slattery, Aaliyah Russo, Remi Sherman and Easton Sherman; his brother Anthony Russo; step brothers and sisters, brother in-laws and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Johnny will be remembered as a true family man always putting his family first and making sure that each one of us was safe at home every night and quick to offer any support they needed.
