James Lloyd Webster passed away from complications related to heart problems. Jim was the last surviving child of Anna and Willard Webster. Born in Watervliet, N.Y., Jim attended Crown Point High School and went to sea with the U.S. Navy, where he served over 20 years.
After his retirement, Jim enjoyed woodworking and made many wooden toys for his grandchildren and charity. As an avid reader, you could always find a book near his favorite chair. He was a history buff and once proved his college history professor wrong, thereby increasing his test score. Jim traveled all over the world, preferring trains to planes, and scenic routes to highways. He took many Riverboat cruises, including going to Russia.
Jim returned to Crown Point near the end of his life where he lived with his loving wife, Joyce Hill (nee Raine). He is survived by his daughters, Bette-Jayne Rafferty and Robyn McKenry, as well as, step-daughters, Patty Ann True, Melinda Scott, and Jerri Scott-Ferrante. Jim delighted in being "Poppy" to five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There are many others who Jim considered family and close friends.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Jan 5, 2018, at noon at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crown Point, N.Y.
Please no flowers or cards. If you would like to pay tribute, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
